Children of all ages will love splashing around at the free spray parks in Kansas City, Kansas. Beat the summer heat with brightly colored water towers, loops and hoops with activators, and plenty of shaded seating for parents and shelters.

Shawnee

Splash Cove in Downtown Shawnee is the perfect cool off spot for the kiddos! With a full body slide, mini wave pool, and massive interactive playground feature it will help you and the kiddos beat a hot summer day. Also offering concessions and party cabanas, you can easily make a full day of getting your vitamin D and splashing around. Extra bonus: The City of Shawnee Parks and Rec teams typical holds a K-9’s at the Cove day in late August to mark the end of pool season! It’s a great way to let your pup swim and mingle.

Leavenworth

Wollman Aquatic Center is an amazing community pool offering many amenities for the community and beyond.  It includes a zero-depth entry, two water slides, two diving boards, and concession stand with eat-in area, gated baby pool, shade structures, lounge chairs, restrooms, showers and more.  Open from Memorial Day thru Labor Day in historic Leavenworth.

Lawrence has a few places that will help you beat the summer heat!

The Outdoor Aquatics Center in Downtown Lawrence offers fun for everyone with shallow play areas for young children, twisty slides, diving boards, lap swimming and more.

Children six and under love splashing around the South Park Wading Pool. Parents love this free afternoon entertainment as well!

Rather have a beach experience? Check out Bloomington Swimming Beach at Clinton Lake where you can enjoy a day of swimming, beach volley, picnicking, and so much more!

Manhattan

Jump into summer fun in Manhattan! If you’re looking to cool off, enjoy Manhattan’s water parks. Manhattan features two water parks ready for you to make a splash. At Manhattan’s City Waterpark, take your time as you float through the lazy river or opt for high energy fun as you bounce on the bubble slide. Embark on the two twisting and turning slides there as well. Head to Northview Waterpark to stand under the giant buckets filled with water or enjoy the speedy slide. Come make a splash in Manhattan at one of the great water parks.

Junction City

Life is cool by the pool in Junction City! If it’s hot and you want to cool off, go to the Junction City Swimming Pool and Sprayground Complex. The Junction City Municipal Swimming Complex features a wading pool, full-size pool, diving boards, and a 28 foot tall triple tube slide. The Sprayground Complex features 8 foam jets, a directional jet rail, crown jets, jellyfish tower, palm tree water feature, pumping jets, and water cannons.

The Municipal Pool and Sprayground are located at the intersection of 5th and Eisenhower Drive, in the Playground Park complex, Junction City, Kansas.

Abilene

Beat the summer heat in Abilene, Kansas! Cool off in the Abilene Swimming Pool, which was originally constructed as a Works Projects Administration (W.P.A.) project in 1937. The pool and bathhouse are part of the Abilene City Park Historic District, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. The pool was redesigned and rededicated in 2009 to provide added water features and ADA accessibility.

After your swim, take a walk through the beautiful Eisenhower Park and Rose Garden.

Salina

For real surf and real fun, spend the day at Kenwood Cove – Salina’s premier aquatic park, featuring thrill rides, 1,400 feet of slides, a children’s play area, and fun attractions for the whole family.

Plunge 35 feet from one of the park’s four adventure slides. Drop 12 feet then swirl around the tornado slide before falling into a pool below. Hop on an inner tube and glide 275 feet down the river slide into the Lil’ Smoky Lazy River. Or, catch a wave in the wave pool. Plus, so much more!

Relax, soak up the sun, and spend the day at Kenwood Cove, conveniently located in Salina, Kansas, at the I-70, I-135 interchange. The family-friendly, low-cost aquatic park features Caribbean-inspired décor, lush foliage, and crashing waves for an authentic island experience.

Beat the heat and enjoy The Duke Johnson Swimming Pool in Russell! The pool is great family fun for any age with a shallow area for the littles, diving boards, and waterslides for the bigs!

Hays

The Hays Aquatic Park boasts three exciting water slides, a dump bucket play feature, and a lazy river which meanders through the park, providing hours of summer fun. This aquatic complex also features a leisure pool, competition pool with diving boards, upper deck sunbathing area, concessions, and shaded lounging areas. The park is beautifully landscaped with native limestone, flowers, and trees, providing a picturesque setting that all ages will enjoy.

WaKeeney

The WaKeeney Water Park is a great place to splash around and cool off! The pool is adult and kid friendly. The kid friendly side has a zero entry and there are water features for children including a dump bucket and fountains to play in. There is also a small slide and place with shade for parents to sit and cool their feet while the little ones play. On the other end of the pool there is a three story water slide that is sure to delight young and old as they slide to splash down! There is also a diving board and lap lanes for the serious swimmer. The swimming pool is located in a beautiful park setting so bring a picnic basket and spend the day playing under the trees.

Oakley

Make it a day at the park!  Oakley’s “Cool Pool” at Annie Oakley Park is cool fun on a hot summer day. 

Slide down the giant water slide or wade in the kiddie pool with the toddlers.  In the park, picnic areas, playground equipment, and disc golf offer fun for the whole family.  Restroom and Shower facilities are available.  The pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.  Please check the City Pool Website for times and pricing.

Colby

Colby Aquatic Park offers lots of summer fun for the whole family, including water slides, games, and a lazy river for tubing.  Those looking for a workout can also enjoy water walking, lap swim, and aqua zumba.  The Aquatic Park is available for rental on the weekends.  See their Facebook page for details on classes and party rental.
